Above & Beyond Makes a Triumphant Return with ‘Tranquility Base Vol. 1’

‘Tranquility Base Vol. 1’ marks the triumphant return of Above & Beyond to the dancefloor. This collection comprises five powerful club records that pay homage to their instrumental origins.

After the exhilarating sold-out Group Therapy 500 celebrations at Banc of California Stadium last October, the GRAMMY-nominated pioneers of Anjunabeats took a six-month studio hiatus. Jono, Paavo, and Tony dedicated themselves to crafting their next ambitious project.

This week, Above & Beyond takes center stage with two fully booked shows for the closing season of Printworks London. It serves as a heartfelt tribute to their instrumental club heritage, signaling the launch of the ‘Tranquility Base EP’ series. Under their Tranquility Base alias, Above & Beyond gained reverence for their contributions to the trance genre, creating iconic records like ‘Surrender,’ ‘Oceanic,’ and ‘Razorfish.’ The ‘Tranquility Base EP’ series showcases their latest instrumental tracks that have become staples in Jono, Paavo, and Tony’s record collections.

‘Tranquility Base Vol. 1’ draws inspiration from diverse realms of contemporary electronic music. The EP features five tracks that made their debut in front of 25,000 enthusiastic fans in Los Angeles last October. From the infectious grooves of ‘Spin Off’ to the brooding atmospheric techno of ‘VLEKNO,’ the collection presents a range of captivating sounds.

The lead single from ‘Tranquility Base Vol. 1,’ titled ‘Angry JP8,’ is an electrifying fusion of electro and edgy vibes. It is out now, building anticipation for the full EP release on May 25.
