Ancient Petra in Jordan to Host New Festival in 2024

Ever dreamed of partying like it’s 312 BC? Well, your dream might just come true. The iconic Petra in Jordan is set to be the backdrop for a brand-new festival called Medaina. This exciting event is slated to debut in May 2024, nestled amidst the historical wonders of Petra and the nearby Wadi Rum Valley. Known as the ‘Valley of the Moon’ or even ‘Mars on Earth’ due to its striking red landscape, Wadi Rum is the perfect complement to the enchanting Petra.

Behind this innovative festival is Tithorea, a production company renowned for curating events in extraordinary locations. Their grand Echoes from Agartha festival is a prime example, having graced stunning venues like Guanacaste in Costa Rica, Cappadocia in Turkey, San Miguel Del Allende in Mexico, and Brasov in Romania.

Shahin Mani, Co-Founder of Tithoria, states,
“The festival gets its name from the fusion of ‘Mediterranean’ and the Arabic word ‘ain’, meaning spring.”

Spanning five days, Medaina kicks off in the ancient city of Petra on May 22. The festivities then shift to Wadi Rum on May 24, culminating in a grand centerpiece event the following day. The revelry is set to continue until May 27.
