Silverstone, UK – In an electrifying event, Calvin Harris took the stage by storm, accompanied by Jess Glynne and Cat Burns, igniting a fusion of British music and motorsport at the opening celebration of the Formula 1 Aramco British Grand Prix.
Aiming to usher in a new era of music at the iconic Silverstone venue, Cat Burns kicked off the unforgettable show with her hits “Go” and “Live More & Love More.”
As the sun set, Jess Glynne effortlessly captivated the crowd with her timeless classics, leaving the audience yearning for more. The acclaimed singer even treated fans to a sneak peek of an unreleased track, adding an extra layer of excitement to the evening.
Then came Calvin Harris, the globally acclaimed artist, DJ, and producer, who elevated the atmosphere to unprecedented heights. Whether he performed his long-time favorite “I’m Not Alone” or his recent chart-topper “Miracle,” Harris curated an exceptional set that delighted both his dedicated followers and newfound admirers. The night culminated with a breathtaking fireworks display, officially commencing the 2023 Formula 1 Aramco British Grand Prix.
An impressive crowd of 45,000 fans gathered at the inaugural Launch Party, held at Silverstone’s newly-expanded music arena. The staging was flawlessly executed by Library Productions, the industry pioneers renowned for managing the iconic Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury.
The Launch Party celebrated the best of British music and motorsport, expertly curated by Jamie Scott. As a Grammy-nominated and Ivor Novello Award-winning British songwriter and producer, Scott assumed the role of Director of Music at Silverstone last year.
Reflecting on the extraordinary evening, Jamie Scott expressed his excitement, stating, “What a way to kick off the weekend here at Silverstone. We had three incredible British acts who absolutely rocked the stage. Our aim was to enhance the festive atmosphere, and last night exceeded all expectations. I can’t wait to continue the festivities with upcoming performances by Tom Grennan, Jax Jones, and the Black Eyed Peas throughout the weekend. And next year, we plan to make Silverstone an even grander summer highlight on both the British sports and music calendars!”
This year’s Formula 1 Aramco British Grand Prix introduced an exhilarating new music program, offering four spectacular evenings of live music and entertainment at no additional cost for existing ticket holders. Festival powerhouses Jax Jones (Friday), Black Eyed Peas (Saturday), and Tom Grennan (Sunday) are set to grace the stage throughout the weekend, promising unforgettable performances.
