Danny Tenaglia Announces Culminating Edition of His Global Underground Trilogy with ‘GU45: Brooklyn’

Renowned DJ and producer Danny Tenaglia has unveiled the final chapter of his Global Underground trilogy with the upcoming compilation titled ‘GU45: Brooklyn’.

Having initiated the Global Underground series with ‘GU10: Athens’ in 1999, followed by ‘GU17: London’ the next year, Tenaglia now returns over two decades later to his hometown, Brooklyn, for the trilogy’s grand finale.

‘GU45: Brooklyn’ features an array of artists including Moderat, Monika Kruse with Pig&Dan, Dino Lenny, and Basement Jaxx. Notably, the compilation includes Tenaglia’s upcoming single with Cevin Fisher, titled ‘Move That Body’, along with additional tracks from the artist himself.

Reflecting on the compilation, Danny Tenaglia shares, “I’m happy to announce that I’ve just completed my third compilation for the iconic Global Underground series. First, it was ‘Athens GU10’, then ‘London GU17’, and now we are bringing it to my hometown of Brooklyn giving you GU45.”

He adds, “As a native of Williamsburg, Brooklyn, this compilation is not only a celebration of my roots but also a tribute to the dynamic and ever-evolving nightlife that ignited and guided my musical career back in 1975.”

Global Underground Founder, Andy Horsfield, expresses excitement about the final release, stating, “I’m so excited to present the third and final instalment in Danny Tenaglia’s GU Trilogy with ‘GU45: Brooklyn’… Brooklyn is a stunning addition to that heritage, and I can’t wait to release this album to the world.”

Despite this celebratory announcement, Tenaglia has recently revealed that he has been diagnosed with cancer. In a video message, he shared that his recent cancellation of gigs was due to his diagnosis, stating, “I’m strong, I’m fighting this.”

‘GU45: Brooklyn’, featuring a collection of 42 tracks, will be available through various formats including CD, vinyl, download, and streaming platforms.

As Danny Tenaglia brings his Global Underground trilogy to an impressive close, it’s a moment to celebrate both his musical legacy and his personal strength in the face of health challenges.
