DJ Mag ES Issue #148 Now Available!

The festival season is in full swing as summer parties kick off around the world. To commemorate this exciting time, our June cover features an artist who needs little introduction: Ida Engberg.

Ida, a Swedish artist who has called Ibiza home for years, is making history this year, not only for the island but for the global clubbing scene. She has become the first female artist to hold a long-term residency. Her party, “De ella MYSTIK de ella,” will grace Club Chinois from May 30 to September 26, introducing a new concept that Ida describes as “a night full of color, joy, and creativity, something a bit avant-garde.”

On an international scale, we had the privilege of sitting down with the renowned Jamie Jones. During our chat, we delved into his latest collaboration with Channel Tres, his newly established record label Paradise Music, and his residency at Amnesia, featuring the concept ‘Night Of The Jaguar.’

Shifting our focus nationally, we bring you an intriguing conversation with Madrid-based DJ and producer Ed Is Dead. Known for his expertise, endless hours spent experimenting with hardware, and innovative approaches to live sets, Ed Is Dead shares his experiences, touring adventures, production endeavors, and unique sound design.

In a change of pace, we present two noteworthy highlights. First, we showcase the second season of Club Chinois in Ibiza, boasting an impressive lineup of seven stellar residences. In just a year, this club has swiftly become one of the finest on the Ibizan nightlife scene, offering immersive experiences and top-tier talent. Additionally, we provide an in-depth look at the 2023 edition of OFFSónar. With three stages set within Poble Espanyol, this festival will once again take over the city in June, celebrating 30 years of technological advancements, creativity, and cutting-edge music.

Our reports section features two compelling pieces. Firstly, we celebrate 20 years of electronic music at La Casa Encendida, a contemporary cultural center in Madrid. Renowned for its activities encompassing visual arts, performing arts, music, literature, and cinema, La Casa Encendida has become a cornerstone of the city’s cultural landscape. Secondly, we delve into the challenges of balancing a demanding music career with a healthy personal life. Specifically, we explore the loneliness experienced by artists throughout their careers, drawing upon the expertise of Rosana Corbacho, a clinical psychologist specializing in providing therapeutic support to artists.

Lastly, we recount our firsthand experience at the legendary Amnesia Ibiza’s opening party in May. Join us as we take you through fourteen hours of non-stop dancing and pure fun, a vibrant welcome to the marathon season!
