Eats Everything and Nissan Collaborate on Breakbeat Track Inspired by Formula E

Renowned DJ and producer Eats Everything has joined forces with Nissan to create a captivating breakbeat track titled ‘Feeel’, drawing inspiration from the sounds of electric motorsport Formula E.

The track, which will be released ahead of the final race of the season in London on July 29 and 30, incorporates various sounds collected during the Monaco E-Prix in May. These include audio captured from Nissan’s Formula E Team garage, team radios, race cars, and even the opening of drink cans.

The collaboration was born out of Nissan’s research, which revealed that nearly half of motorsports fans believe background music enhances the atmosphere of the sport. Eats Everything discussed the creative process behind the project, stating:

“I find the sound of Formula E to be quite musical. It creates a unique chord that, when played in a melody, may not work, but as a sound, it feels like it’s constantly ascending, similar to the shepard tone or the doppler effect – it’s an audio illusion, essentially.”

He further expressed his excitement about exploring a different genre with this collaboration, stating that the project has inspired him to release more breakbeat tracks in the future. Eats Everything considers it a passion project and hopes that it will encourage others to embrace this genre as well.

The track features a moment where the phrase ‘ichi-ni-san’, which translates to ‘one-two-three’ in Japanese, can be heard during its most dramatic moment. This phrase is significant as Nissan consistently competes with the number 23 (ni-san) in motorsports, and ‘Ichi’ is the name of Eats Everything’s cat, creating a serendipitous connection.

Tommaso Volpe, the managing director of the Nissan Formula E Team, praised Eats Everything for his versatility and willingness to push boundaries. He emphasized the importance of capturing the true essence and sound of Formula E, and believes that Eats Everything has delivered precisely that.

The collaboration between Eats Everything and Nissan showcases the fusion of music and motorsport, resulting in an innovative and engaging track that encapsulates the spirit of Formula E.
