Laurent Garnier Presents First Solo Album in Six Years

Renowned French DJ Laurent Garnier has made significant announcements about his future endeavors. Firstly, he is set to release a new album in May, titled “33 Tours Et Puis S’en Vont,” marking his first solo LP since 2015’s “La Home Box.” The album traverses various genres including techno, hip-hop, punk, and drum & bass, featuring appearances from notable artists like 22Carbone, Alan Watts, and the late Alan Vega of Suicide.

Garnier expressed that this album is the culmination of two years spent amid doubt and uncertainty. It serves as a return to his roots, paying homage to the dance floor and the diverse forms of techno music.

In addition to the album release, Garnier has revealed his decision to step back from touring at the end of 2024. At 57 years old, he aims to avoid becoming a “dusty, old jukebox.” Nonetheless, Garnier emphasizes his unwavering passion for being a DJ, stating that it is a visceral need to share the music he loves, ensuring that he will continue as a DJ for the rest of his life, regardless of the format or platform.

Further details about the audio release from “33 Tours Et Puis S’en Vont” will be announced at a later date.
