Madhouse Records, the legendary house label co-founded by Kerri Chandler and Mel Medalie, is closing its doors.

Madhouse Records, the renowned house label co-founded by Kerri Chandler and Mel Medalie, is set to close its doors, according to an announcement made by Chandler on Instagram. The decision to cease trading was based on the belief that it was the right time to bring the label to a close.

Established in 1992 by Chandler and Medalie, Madhouse Records made a significant impact on the music industry. Its debut release, Chandler’s iconic compilation ‘A Basement, A Red Light, And A Feelin”, featured singles like Dreamer G’s ‘I Got That Feeling’ and set the tone for the label’s success.

As Madhouse Records concludes its operations, Chandler’s own releases under the label will transition to his Kaoz Theory label. The remaining records will become part of the parent label, Champion Records.

Raj Porter, representing Champion Records, expressed sadness over the end of Madhouse Records’ 31-year journey but acknowledged that all good things must come to an end. Both Chandler and Champion have promising new projects on the horizon, making it an opportune time to bid farewell to the label.

In February 2022, Chandler captivated audiences with a special reel-to-reel tape and hologram live set at The Roundhouse in Camden. DJ Mag exclusively showcased two hours of his performance, providing a glimpse into Chandler’s extraordinary talent.

While the closure of Madhouse Records marks the end of an era, Chandler’s lasting impact on the house music scene and his future endeavors continue to be highly anticipated.
