Mayan Warrior is partnering with Los Angeles-based event collective Stranger Than for a thrilling Halloween event on October 28th. This Halloween gathering holds special significance as it marks the final official Mayan Warrior fundraising event following the unfortunate destruction of their iconic art car in a fire earlier this year. The event will take place at Grand Park, where Mayan Warrior first introduced their West Coast event in 2017.
Originating from Mexico City, Mayan Warrior evolved from a renegade Burning Man Art Car and Soundcamp into one of the electronic music industry’s most successful touring brands. Their lineups, always a surprise, combine native Mexican talent with global underground artists.
Their signature art car, a fusion of ancient culture and cutting-edge technology, resembles a supernatural Mayan entity, complete with a DJ booth, lasers, and state-of-the-art sound systems.
To commemorate a decade since its inception, Mayan Warrior embarked on an anniversary tour, bringing their beloved art car to Austin, NYC, Miami, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. This event series involved collaboration with Stranger Than five years ago, aiming to fund their return to Burning Man and their initial off-Playa performances.
Even after the devastating loss of their art car earlier this year, the Mayan Warrior’s profound impact and tight-knit community were clearly demonstrated, showcasing the resilience and unity that defines this remarkable project. Despite the setback, the Mayan Warrior’s legacy endures, a testament to its timeless spirit and the potency of human connection. The upcoming Los Angeles event will pay homage to Mayan Warrior’s legacy and provide a final opportunity to experience the magic of Mayan Warrior.
Stranger Than, a trailblazing force in the U.S. electronic music scene, is known for transforming historically and culturally significant urban spots into dynamic venues for their house and techno events. Led by founder Tal Ohana, Stranger Than has introduced various new locations for their iconic events throughout LA, from Grand Park and El Pueblo to Cabrillo Beach and the Petersen Automotive Museum. This Halloween event is part of Stranger Than’s series of upcoming Halloween events in Los Angeles. The collective has expanded its presence to both coasts, positioning itself as a premier production partner for global institutions.
Prepare for an extraordinary Halloween experience as Mayan Warrior and Stranger Than join forces to create an unforgettable night of music and celebration in Los Angeles.
