Afrojack – Biography

Afrojack, whose real name is Nick Leonardus van de Wall, is a DJ, music producer, and remixer from the Netherlands. He was born on September 9, 1987, in Spijkenisse, South Holland, and grew up in a single-parent household with his mother, who owned a local gym. He learned to play the piano at the age of five and developed a passion for music. After finishing high school, he studied graphic design in Rotterdam for a year before pursuing a career as a DJ/producer.

At the age of 11, he started producing his own music and spent five hours a day working on it. It took him seven years to produce his first release, “In Your Face.” By the age of 14, he began DJing at local pubs and clubs and designing websites for other musicians to earn additional income.

In 2007, Afrojack released his first recording, “In Your Face,” which gained international success. His breakthrough hit, “Take Over Control,” featuring Eva Simons, charted in 10 countries. He has been a regular feature in DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs list and has ranked as high as number 7 in 2011.

Afrojack is the CEO of LDH Europe and founded Wall Recordings, his own record label, in 2007. The label has represented several producers over the years, including KIIDA, Apster, D-Wayne, and Karim Mika.

He has worked with a number of well-known artists, such as David Guetta, Pitbull, and BeyoncĂ©. His debut album, “Forget the World,” was released in 2014, and he has since released several singles and EPs. His latest track, “Trampoline,” was released in March 2022, featuring David Guetta, Missy Elliott, Bia, and Doechii.
