Paul Darey – Biography

Paul was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 1977, and later relocated to Barcelona in 1988. It was there that he kickstarted his DJ career, spinning at prominent house parties across the city. In 2001, he received his first international opportunity in the United States, which led him to embark on a three-year journey, constantly traveling and performing. Eventually, he found himself in Ibiza, where he made his debut alongside Roger Sánchez at the Release Yourself pre-party at Café Mambo.

This marked the beginning of his residency at Pacha Ibiza and his involvement in the world tour for a remarkable four years. During this time, Paul had the privilege of sharing the stage with renowned headliners and played a pivotal role in establishing Pacha Ibiza as a pre-party destination.

In 2004, Paul took on another significant residency, this time at Salvacion Ibiza party in El Divino Ibiza, where he performed weekly for three years. However, his career trajectory didn’t stop there. From 2007 until October 2013, he became a resident DJ at Space Ibiza, widely regarded as one of the world’s most famous clubs.

Paul graced the main events at Space Ibiza, sharing the stage with esteemed international artists such as Richie Hawtin, Carl Cox, Steve Lawler, Nic Fanciulli, Sven Vath, Erick Morillo, Pete Tong, and many others.

He also took his music and signature house/tech style on the road as part of the Space Ibiza On Tour, performing at renowned clubs worldwide, including Zouk in Singapore, Tresor in Berlin, Green Valley in Brazil, Ellui in Seoul, Queen in Paris, Cube in Rome, Café D’Anvers in Antwerp, Qbar in Bangkok, XL Beach in Dubai, and Cielo in New York City.

As his career progressed, Paul decided to focus on his own solo DJ career. In the summer of 2014, he embarked on new projects, including regular performances at REVERSE IBIZA party every Wednesday at Privilege Ibiza. This underground party quickly became one of the highlights of the Ibiza summer scene.

In the following years, Paul continued to make his mark, playing at Privilege Ibiza, Sankeys, and running his own Basswalk party at Lips Beach Club in Playa d’en Bossa every Thursday, featuring esteemed DJs such as Cristian Varela, Super Flu, Gabriel Ananda, Marco Bailey, Debborah de Luca, and many more.

Alongside his DJ career, Paul Darey has made significant strides as a producer, working with prestigious labels including Deeperfect Records, Monique Musique, Bush Records, Pornographic Recordings, and Cr2 Records, to name a few.

In 2016, Paul ventured further into his solo production career, with his first EP as a solo producer signed to Deeperfect Records, as well as being featured in Noferini’s Club edition winter compilation.

Over the years, Paul Darey’s contributions to the music industry have garnered recognition and acclaim, earning him numerous award nominations from esteemed publications like Vicious Music Magazine and Deejay Magazine. His talent, passion, and dedication continue to drive him forward, cementing his status as an influential figure in the electronic music scene.
