Solomun – Biography

Solomun, born Mladen Solomun in 1975 in Travnik, Yugoslavia (now Bosnia and Herzegovina), moved to Hamburg with his family where he grew up. As a young boy, he worked for his father in construction. Eventually, he discovered his passion for filmmaking and founded a small production company, creating short films with friends. 

Solomun, whose real name is Mladen Solomun, is a Bosnian-born DJ and producer who has made a significant impact on European house music. Solomun’s contributions have earned him prestigious awards, including Best Producer at the DJ Awards Ibiza and DJ of the Year by Mixmag Magazine.

Solomun has played a major role in redefining European house music, skillfully reconstructing its building blocks with a fresh, ultramodern twist. His emotive and authentic productions, remixes, and DJ sets have earned him recognition as a well-respected underground producer. 

In 2012, his legendary first season on Ibiza with his label-inspired Diynamic Neon Nights at Sankeys marked the beginning of his stratospheric rise in popularity. Passionate about both the studio and DJing, Solomun believes that “Music is Moments.” As the head of Diynamic Music and the founder of successful labels like Diynamic and 2DIY4, he showcases a sensual style that combines deepness, funkiness, and human vocals.

Solomun’s performances are a captivating experience where music and emotions intertwine. His residency at Pacha Ibiza, “Solomun +1,” has become an iconic event, featuring him alongside a single guest artist. Beyond Ibiza, Solomun’s influence extends globally with editions of “Solomun +1” in Berlin, New York, and Tulum.
