Amsterdam is preparing to welcome a new club to its vibrant nightlife scene this autumn. Set to open its doors during the first weekend of October, CLUB RAUM will be situated near Sloterdijk Station within a repurposed industrial building dating back to the 1960s.
The driving force behind this venture is Sven Bijma and Diego Meijers, the minds behind the renowned queer club night SPIELRAUM. Their aim is to create a dedicated space for Amsterdam’s LGBTQIA+ community.
Resident artists at CLUB RAUM will include local talents like Fafi Abdel Nour, KI/KI, and Mary Lake, with more names yet to be announced. The club has also secured regular performances from the likes of Mama Snake, Sedef Adasï, Bashkka, and Angel D’lite. Although specific programming details are still under wraps, anticipation is building.
Launched in 2017, SPIELRAUM has already made a significant mark in the nightlife circuit, collaborating with prestigious venues such as Berghain in Berlin and Bassiani in Tbilisi. In 2021, the party’s contribution to supporting marginalized communities earned it a spot in Amsterdam municipality’s policy plan.
The imminent arrival of CLUB RAUM adds another exciting chapter to Amsterdam’s diverse clubbing landscape, offering a safe and inclusive space for the LGBTQIA+ community and all electronic music enthusiasts.
