Roland Corporation has announced the forthcoming launch of its inaugural flagship retail establishment in Tokyo, Japan, slated to open its doors on October 1, 2023. The Roland Store Tokyo is poised to provide an immersive and interactive exhibition of the brand’s cutting-edge electronic musical instruments and advancements.
Building upon the triumph of its debut retail store in London last year, Roland is extending this dynamic retail concept on a global scale. The Tokyo venue will offer patrons personalized demonstrations of products and expert counsel from Roland specialists across three floors, encompassing synthesizers, digital pianos, drum kits, and more.
Nestled in Tokyo’s fashionable Harajuku district, renowned for its fashion and cultural vibrancy, the store pays homage to Roland’s Japanese heritage. Visitors can peruse the comprehensive product array while indulging in a bespoke encounter facilitated by the proprietary “Audience Specific Experience” (ASX) technology. This innovative technology tailors audio, visuals, and lighting during hands-on sessions to create a personalized environment.
Beyond the appointment-based personal shopping service, Roland’s experts will also extend post-purchase support to assist new users in honing their skills. Roland’s primary objective is to foster creativity and cultivate a sense of community around their musical instruments.
Gordon Raison, CEO of Roland, emphasized, “The opening of Roland Store Tokyo is driven by our commitment to offering visitors an authentic opportunity to engage with our products and culture within an intimate setting.”
This Tokyo establishment follows in the footsteps of the triumph of the London flagship store, which delivered remarkable service within a dedicated retail space. Positioned strategically in Harajuku, a nucleus of music and culture, the new store is well poised to introduce Roland’s passion for music creation to a broader audience.
