Watergate Summer Series Ignites the Berlin Open-Air Season at Sage Beach

Watergate, the renowned Berlin club, is set to kick off the summer season from June to September at Sage Beach.

Throughout June, Watergate hosted a series of events in collaboration with DJ Heartstring and the prestigious London label Anjunadeep.

On July 15, the highly anticipated live performance by producer and DJ Kollektiv Turmstrasse will grace the urban beach. And on September 16, the closing event will be headlined by the Italian duo Agents Of Time, marking the transition into autumn.

Watergate and Sage Berlin have been collaborating since 2016, both situated in close proximity to the River Spree. The open-air space of Sage Beach spans 600m² and can accommodate up to 750 people, offering an authentic beach experience in the heart of the city. With exceptional cuisine and a diverse range of events against the backdrop of the urban landscape, Sage on Köpenicker Straße has become a fixture in the Berlin scene.

Established in October 2002 at the iconic Oberbaumbrücke in Berlin-Kreuzberg, Watergate celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2022. In 2008, the club launched its own label, Watergate Records, which initially featured mix CDs and releases from renowned DJs like Solomun, Ellen Allien, WhoMadeWho, and Jimi Jules, capturing the essence of the “Watergate sound.” Over time, the label has evolved into an artist-focused platform, nurturing a special bond between the artists and the iconic venue at Oberbaumbrücke.

At Watergate, each night and day is approached with equal dedication, rejecting the notion of day-to-day monotony. Uli Wombacher, one of the club’s three founders, states, “We embody a counter-design to everything that defines Berlin club culture.”

This counter-design philosophy also drives the Watergate open-air events and other off-site experiences, providing attendees with fresh perspectives and opportunities to connect with the club and its unique ambiance.

Regularly venturing beyond the club’s walls opens doors to new sounds and allows guests who may be familiar with the club to experience it in a different light.
