KORG Launches Stunning Translucent “Crystal” Synthesizer to Celebrate 20th Anniversary

In celebration of the 20th anniversary since the debut of the microKORG Crystal synthesizer, KORG has unveiled a special edition of the iconic synth featuring a brand new translucent design.

The Special Edition microKORG Crystal Synthesizer/Vocoder draws inspiration from the original Crystal synthesizer released by KORG in 2003, giving it a fresh and captivating appearance.

The transparent body of the microKORG offers a glimpse into its inner workings, reminiscent of the popular design trend of the early 2000s seen in gaming devices such as the GameBoy, PlayStation, and Nintendo 64.

While the casing has been updated, all the beloved features of the retro microKORG remain intact. It includes a built-in vocoder, dual analog oscillators, and translucent knobs, dials, and wheels.

With a wide variety of waveforms and a built-in filter and amp section, users can manipulate sounds to add texture and create unique sonic expressions.

Alongside its new aesthetic, the microKORG special edition synth comes with a transparent travel bag, allowing musicians to take their music-making experience on the move.

Originally launched in 2003, the KORG Crystal synthesizer quickly gained recognition as one of the most highly acclaimed and best-selling synths of all time. Even after two decades, it continues to be a top seller.

Renowned for its portability, the microKORG offers a compact size and can be powered by batteries, making it perfect for creating music on the go.

The new special edition synthesizer will be showcased at the annual Superbooth event in Berlin this weekend, featuring the latest innovations in music technology. It will be available for purchase starting in July, priced at €539 (£465).
