Krake Festival Presents Panel on Disability and Its Impact on Club Culture in Berlin

Krake Festival is embracing inclusivity and raising important discussions on disability and club culture through a dedicated panel at its 2023 opening party.

Set to occur at House of Music on July 21st, the panel, supported by Resident Advisor, aims to explore principles of inclusion and diversity. Its primary focus is to foster perspectives that lead to improved opportunities for individuals with disabilities to pursue careers in the arts within the subcultural industry.

Leading the discussion as the panel moderator is BBC journalist Amy Zayed. Joining her are esteemed participants including German artist Bläck Dävil, social choreographer Daniel Vais, Maureen Noe from Musicboard Berlin, LCavaliero Mann, artistic director of schwuZ, and Markus Lau, manager of the social institute Lebenshilfe gGmbH. The opening party is free to attend and will also feature a film screening and BBQ, adding to the celebratory atmosphere.

Taking place at the renowned Berlin club about blank from June 24th to 25th, Krake Festival boasts an exceptional lineup featuring DJ Stingray 313, IMOGEN, and Wheelman, among others. The festival strongly emphasizes inclusivity and seeks to delve into the reasons behind the underrepresentation of artists with disabilities in a scene that prides itself on its commitment to diversity.
