Pioneer DJ has launched an iOS update for its renowned rekordbox software, bringing new capabilities to DJs using iPhones or iPads.
The latest version, rekordbox 4.0, enables users to DJ using virtual decks and a mixer, all with the convenience of their iPhone or iPad. The app empowers DJs to add cue points, effects, samples, and loops directly within the application.
One of the standout features of rekordbox 4.0 is its ability to stream music from popular cloud services like SoundCloud and TIDAL, in addition to accessing locally stored tracks on the device. The app can also establish wireless connections with Pioneer DJ controllers, including the DDJ-FLX4.
While the app is available for free download and use, certain advanced features require a paid subscription. It’s important to note that rekordbox 4.0 is currently exclusive to iOS and does not support Android devices. Moreover, the iOS version does not offer compatibility with Beatport or Beatsource.
This rekordbox update expands the possibilities for DJs, offering a portable solution for mixing and performance directly from their iPhones or iPads.
