Spotify has just introduced a new and exciting feature called “Playlist in a Bottle”. This allows users to create playlists that reflect their current mood and seal it for a period of 12 months.
The feature prompts users to choose songs that embody specific emotions, such as “A song that you’ll listen to while falling in love this year” or “A song you’re dying to hear live in 2023”. Once the playlist is completed, it will be “sealed” and delivered back to the user in January 2024, offering a nostalgic trip down memory lane.
This new addition to the Spotify app is only accessible via iOS and Android devices and offers five different time capsule options to choose from – a bottle, jean pocket, gumball machine, lunch box, and teddy bear.
The “Playlist in a Bottle” feature is available for both free and premium users and can be accessed in 27 markets and 18 languages. However, users must have the latest version of the Spotify app installed on their device to take advantage of this feature.
This announcement comes just after Spotify declared that The Weeknd’s “Blinding Lights” was the most streamed song of all time, surpassing Ed Sheeran’s “Shape Of You”.
In addition to Spotify’s “Playlist in a Bottle”, other music streaming services have also announced new features, such as TIDAL’s “DJ” feature, which lets users log into a live DJ session and listen to music being played in real-time.
